Fleet Running Costs
Enter 1–4 cars, each with their own annual mileage, to see individual running costs and the total fleet spend. Unlike the two-car calculators, each car drives its own independent mileage — there is no shared split.
How the Fleet Calculator Works
Each car in your fleet has its own independent annual mileage, fuel type and cost inputs. The calculator works out the full running cost for each vehicle — fuel, insurance, road tax, servicing and depreciation — then sums the totals to give a fleet-wide annual figure.
Unlike the Two Cars vs One calculator, there is no shared mileage split. This makes the fleet tool well suited to small businesses, taxi or driving-instructor operations, and households where each car has a clearly distinct usage pattern (e.g. a long-distance commuter, a school-run runaround, and a weekend tow car).
What's Included in Each Vehicle's Annual Cost
- Fuel — calculated from the car's MPG and the price you enter, scaled to its annual mileage. Electric vehicles can split costs between home and public charging.
- Road tax — flat annual figure per car.
- Insurance — annual premium per car.
- Servicing & repairs — routine maintenance, MOT and consumables.
- Depreciation — the loss in resale value over the year, often the largest single cost.
The fleet total tells you the true annual cost of keeping the whole group of vehicles on the road — useful for budgeting, expense recovery or comparing against alternatives such as leasing.
